When it comes to access to a supply of clean water people who live in the West are lucky. Virtually everyone in that part of the world has clean water piped straight to their home, and the quality of that water is closely monitored. However, every now and again people become concerned about the quality of their water.
Virtually all of the treated water that is pumped into homes and business is obtained from natural sources. Unfortunately, these water sources sometimes become contaminated when someone pumps something they shouldn’t into a river. The authorities know this happens so regularly test water quality, but occasionally a story like the Plano water quality one from 2012 gets into the press and people worry. The Plano story turned out to be a bit of a storm in a teacup because the city’s drinking water actually did meet all EPA standards. However, sales of water filtration systems increased in the locale during the period the story ran and they have remained strong since.
A Consistent Standard of Water
This is because consumers realized that a water filtration system is an easy and relatively cheap way to ensure that water used in the home is of the same standard regardless of what happens to the source water. The filters provide homeowners with an extra layer of protection. They know that the water coming into their home will be even cleaner once it has gone through their home filtration system. Many homeowners also love the fact that they do not have to spend money on expensive bottled water because the water from their faucet tastes so good.
